Walking home in the drama of trees

I love how the early morning mist highlights the individual elegance of the trees here. See how they lean and reach and extend themselves.

I imagine a power under control here, like the slow graceful movements of a traditional Chinese dance telling their story of growth – the need for the light, the fight to survive, the reaching for more. A story not unlike our own, perhaps.

And then there’s Sally, one of my neighbours, doing what she does every day walking her dog whatever the weather, enjoying the forest within the bounds of a modest home nearby – and the simple comfort this offers.
