Ground colour

The lovely light and colours on the ground caught my eye here – the moss in the foreground and auburn fern further back. 

It looked almost dreamy. But it was cold and still everywhere. The atmosphere felt crisp and clean. 

The setting sun seemed like it would go on forever – where you feel eternity in a moment.

Alight with abundance

I’d just started on a bike ride for a bit of exercise but didn’t get far before stopping to capture this scene. The sunlight in the gateway beckoned me closer. How could I resist?  The leaves and grass were so bright in the sunshine. Everything felt new and fresh with an abundance of Spring flourish – the vegetation bursting with life; birdsong happy and hopeful.  It’s like the forest has got new clothes and is chuffed to wear them.  And it’s good to see!  Those tall trees on either side now look to me like columns at the entrance of a special place – where the sun shines and the leaves sparkle and life is abundant.
