Complete together

You’d played up at dinner… BIG TIME... again! You’d been a ‘scallywag’, as Mummy likes to call it. And then, knowing it all, just when it seemed you’d crossed the line too far to return, you crawled into your mummy’s lap for a snuggle.  

And I watched. I watched you give yourself up to her embrace. All resistance gone. Sweet surrender. Total abandon. Bliss. 

I find it remarkable how all the tension before this special moment disappeared in an instant. All was suddenly well again. All was whole. Things were back to normal. Roles were resumed. Mummy could be Mummy. You could be you. And you looked so complete together.
