Finding a gap in the tangle

Trees and branches are silhouetted beautifully against the early morning sun in a dense part of the New Forest.

My eye is drawn to the gap in between the two trees, just above the centre of the frame. It’s a bit of space that brings relief from all the tangle. And it reminds me of how complicated life can seem, and how I sometimes wish things were simpler.

Not that this is an ugly tangle. Those trees strike an attractive silhouette. And sometimes I just need a break from the intricacies of life to appreciate them again.

Anyway, it was a beautiful morning. I’d got up early to do some work before the weekend started but the view from my desk beckoned me outside. The sunshine was hitting the trees and the sky seemed happy to be back.

‘Come outside’, the day kept saying. So I did. And it was lovely.
