Shedding light on the complexity
I’m drawn by the forms of trees in winter, revealing the shape of their lives without any dressing. Something about them reflects the complexity I sometimes feel inside or see around me.
Without the diffused sunlight in the early morning mist, I wonder if this image might seem rather bleak. It would be harder to trace the individual lines, adding to the sense of complexity and overwhelm.
But the sun offers warmth and lightness. You get a better sense of depth too, making it clearer where branches are connected or overlapping. And though it's still complex it feels more manageable and easier to comprehend.

Again in black and white:
Hmm, definitely bleaker without the colour. Imagine it without the light too!
