A curious forest opening

I loved the wildness of this place. It felt like I’d stumbled across the gateway to an enchanted forest – the kind in children’s stories that has a life of its own; its own secrets.

It was wet everywhere but the rains had passed and the forecast showed we were in for a bright day. I spent hours wandering around this spot, noticing different things to photograph and thoroughly enjoying myself doing so!

I didn’t have to venture far to discover wonderful subjects around me – the curve of a tree, the moss-covered stumps, the cross-cross patterns of branches, the way droplets hung on to twigs.

It was so good to be out there. I must do it more often!
