All the glory
All the glory of the forest seemed to be contained in this small space as I looked up and gazed around in wonder. Sometimes it’s almost too much being immersed in the beauty of it all. Perhaps that’s why I love snapping photos, to try and capture what I cannot fully comprehend.
In moments like these I’m reminded that life is so much bigger than my own little world of limited understanding and knowledge. There’s something going on here I know absolutely nothing about or have anything to do with.
And yet I get to enjoy it… acknowledge it… wonder at it… glory in it... and snap away gratefully.

Now, in contrast, here’s what the moment looks like without the colour…
It doesn’t reflect the beauty I enjoyed whilst snapping away. On first impressions it looks pretty dull and moody and chaotic in comparison.
But I love black and white photography for its ability to make me notice different things like textures and patterns and forms – plenty of which are going on here and are a wonder in themselves.
