Being lit up

A fallen oak leaf shines like gold on the forest floor, catching the sunlight that's mostly eclipsed by a large tree trunk that looms in the background and is surrounded by vibrant autumnal leafage

When the sunlight pierces through the shadows like this, it lights you up inside as well. That fallen twig was gleaming golden on the ground, as if it were taking on a new life.

It’s not the most attractive shot with those arm-like branches spread out either side. But the light and contrast is lovely.

It was stunning standing there, soaking up another wonder-filled moment.

Hmm, the golden leaf no longer stands out. It’s just one among many that have fallen on the ground.

All my focus is now on the light and its beautiful effect on the leaves.
